About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Jake Flatt, MMT LMBT #7188, has been a licensed massage therapist since 2007. His work is rooted in therapeutic massage, orthopedic bodywork, and Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy.
Before becoming a massage therapist, Jake worked in emergency medical services, where he developed a strong respect for anatomy, function, assessment, and helping people in a practical, hands-on way. That background continues to influence his approach to massage therapy today.
Jake is a Master Myoskeletal Therapist, an orthopedic massage specialist, and a 2024 Massage Therapy Hall of Fame inductee. His sessions are known for being professional, focused, respectful, and tailored to the individual client.
At Pono Manawa Massage in High Point, NC, Jake’s goal is to provide skilled bodywork in a calm, trustworthy environment where clients feel heard, cared for, and supported.

Our Story
Since high school, Jake had dreams of getting into either physical therapy or occupational therapy because he wanted to make people feel good about themselves. He became one of the youngest EMTs in NJ at the age of 16. He moved to NC in January of 1996 and transferred his certifications. After 10 years on an ambulance and on disaster teams, Jake decided that it was time to move on. Through persuasion from friends and family, he decided to pursue massage therapy, attending Natural Touch School of Massage in Greensboro, with the intention of being the best. His impressive grades/certification scores, as well as high marks in peer critique, allowed him to accomplish just that. Jake accepted his position with a local salon and spa in 2007, and now feels he is living his destiny with Pono Manawa Massage. He opened Pono Manawa Massage LLC in July of 2026 and used his experience and product testing knowledge to ensure the very best experience for his clients by using high quality products and the ultimate in comfort of massage tables at Pono Manawa. He specializes in Myoskeletal Alignment Technique, Orthopedic, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, and Rehabilitation.
